National Logo Design Competition
ICPF ANNOUNCES STUDENT WINNERS
NATIONAL LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION
FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN AND RELATED STUDENTS & CLASSES

Alexandria, VA…. The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) is pleased to announce the top placing entries in ICPF's National Logo Design Competition for graphic design and related students & classes.
The purpose of the Fall 2007 national competition was to introduce graphic design students and classes to graphic design career opportunities in the corrugated packaging and design industry and ultimately connect interested students and their faculty with area employers looking for future graphic design graduates. One or two student teams or students with top entries also will be asked to assist in modifying their entry to as an update and replacement for ICPF's ten year old logo. Student participants additionally assisted ICPF in website design since each was required to submit an evaluation of the careers in corrugated portion of the ICPF website and its effectiveness in describing and promoting corrugated packaging career opportunities for graphic design and related students.
The competition generated an overwhelming response with 141 student team and individual student entries from over 200 students and 13 colleges and universities across the country. Entries were judged on style, cutting edge appeal, adaptive use for ICPF, and the statement the logo makes to the higher education community and to the green/sustainable, corrugated industry.
First Place goes to Robert Schellenberg, a junior in graphic design at Iowa State (Professor Debra Satterfield) for his # 2 entry. Robert will receive a student prize of $1,500.00. In addition Iowa State's graphic design's school will receive up to $3,000.00 to introduce corrugated packaging & design into its curriculum.
Second Place goes to Carol Pan, a senior in graphic communications at Cal Poly State (Professor Lorraine Donegan). Carol will receive a student prize of $1,000.00.
Third Place goes to Anders Holine, a junior in graphic design at Iowa State, (Professor Paula Curran). Anders will receive a student prize of $750.00.
Fourth Place goes to Lydia Stone, a junior, in graphic design at Iowa State, (Professor Paula Curran). Lydia will receive a student prize of $500.00.
Fifth Place goes to Jared Welle, a freshman at Brainco Minneapolis School of Advertising, Design, & Interactive Studies (Professor Nancy Johnson). Jared will receive a student prize of $250.00.
Additional entries receiving Top Honors and Honorable Mention from the ICPF judges were submitted by graphic communication students from Appalachian State University (NC); California Polytechnic State University; Eastern Kentucky University; Iowa State University; Kingwood Community College (TX); Kirkwood Community College (IA); Millersville University (PA); Modesto Junior College (CA); Muskegon Community College (MI); Palomar College (CA); Steven F. Austin State University (TX); and the University of Central Missouri.
