International Corrugated Packaging Foundation Conducts
National Student Survey

Alexandria, VA…Chairman Michael D'Angelo announced this week that the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation has conducted its first national student survey that will assist in the outreach to students in recruiting them for corrugated packaging and display careers as well as serve as a benchmark for current national student awareness of available careers in the industry. The contracted survey was conducted by telephone over four full days using a national random sample of 18,000 undergraduate students.
ICPF commissioned the national student survey to confirm and further understand a number of components of student opinions that would be of use to ICPF outreach efforts:
- Awareness of the corrugated packaging and display industry and its career opportunities,
- Factors that influence career exploration and choice,
- Awareness of the broad courses of study (packaging, business, engineering, architecture, etc.) from which the corrugated packaging and display recruits, and
- Student receptivity to various messages on the positive attributes of careers in corrugated packaging & display.
The survey additionally served as a national marketing tool to further expand the knowledge of corrugated packaging and display careers among those students interviewed.
Co-sponsored by the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters and the Fibre Box Association, ICPF's mission is to generate a stream of increasingly qualified students to enter the corrugated industry, now and into the future. ICPF is dedicated to the continued creation and building of partnerships within the education community, the granting of equipment and other resources to advance curriculum, the expansion of student internships within the industry and the promotion of corrugated packaging career opportunities for packaging, business management, accounting, engineering, marketing, graphic design, architecture / structural design and tech graduates.
