ICPF Develops Corrugated Curricula for College Faculty and Students

June 8, 2007 . . . The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) announces its development of a new Corrugated Packaging Curricula. These new course materials are available to college faculty and students directly from the ICPF web site, www.careersincorrugated.org. The Curricula also is accessible to ICPF's corporate donors and investors for use with their new employees who need a sound basic knowledge of corrugated and containerboard.

The Corrugated Curricula provides a comprehensive overview of corrugated manufacturing, from a brief history to detailed production, design, performance specifications, testing processes, and corrugated's role as a cost-effective, high-performance, renewable, recyclable and sustainable packaging choice. The course materials were developed to further advance corrugated curriculum at packaging schools and as an ideal foundation for colleges and universities planning to expand into corrugated packaging science.

ICPF President Richard M. Flaherty reports that “a main goal of the new Curricula is to support ICPF efforts in attracting graduating talent from colleges and universities to the corrugated industry. This month ICPF will be actively alerting packaging schools of this new resource, as well as reaching out to colleges and universities that haven't offered corrugated packaging science in the past. And, throughout the next several months ICPF will be promoting the available curricula to selected graphic design schools at the same time we are introducing their faculty and students to design careers in corrugated packaging through a separate initiative being launched this month.”

The Curricula will be posted on ICPF's website www.careersincorrugated.org where students also can access information on corrugated careers, available jobs & internships, as well as post their resumes for ICPF donor companies.

Faculty interested in accessing and utilizing the curricula on the website should contact ICPF President Richard M. Flaherty at rflaherty@icpfbox.org.
